Search Controls

The Search Filters section showed how you can use the SearchControls argument to select the attributes that are returned with entries in a search operation. You can use this argument also to control other aspects of the search. Following are the available controls:

• The attributes to return
• The scope in which the search is to occur
• The maximum number of entries to return
• The maximum number of milliseconds to wait
• Whether to return the Java object associated with the entry
• Whether JNDI links are dereferenced during the search
