The OLAP DML is a language that defines and manipulates data in an analytic workspace.
As a data definition language, you can use DML statements to create analytic workspaces and analytic workspace data objects. See "OLAP DML as a Data Definition Language" for more information.
As a data manipulation language, you can use DML statements to perform complex analysis of data. See "OLAP DML as a Data Manipulation Language" for more information.
The purpose of the OLAP DML is to enable application developers to extend the analytical capabilities of querying languages such as SQL and the OLAP API for Java.
